The Town of Vail Transit Department provides free, year-round bus service throughout Vail. The fleet includes 12 electric buses with and our goal is to transition all 33 buses to electric by 2032.
Getting Around Vail
The Town of Vail and its surrounding wilderness is easily accessible via public transit. For seasonal bus routes and times, visit vail.gov/bus-schedules or pick up a schedule at Vail Village Parking & Transportation Center.
Bus It to Hike It
Park in Vail in the summer in the Vail Village or Lionshead parking structures. Buses to outlying trailheads leave from the top level of the Vail Village Transportation Center. If you park in Lionshead, take a free in-town bus to the Covered Bridge stop in Vail Village. Route map here.
Ideal for day hikers
$2/hour with a maximum of $10 daily parking rates for summer and $60 overnight parking. Vehicles can stay parked no more than 14 days and must then exit garage. If you park in Lionshead, take a FREE in-town bus to the Covered Bridge stop in Vail Village.
Ideal for overnight campers
$2/hour with a maximum of $10 daily parking rates for summer $35 overnight parking. Vehicles can stay parked no more than 14 days and must then exit garage.
